For the month of may, I’m doing a challenge where I take a picture everyday using always my Nikon D5100 camera with the Nikon 35mm f/1.8G lens.
Check out my Week 1 and Week 2 pictures.
You can check out the all the pictures taken by everyone in the challenge at www.jimbojack.com/may.html
Here are the 7 pictures I took for the third week of the challenge.

I like the “Tree in front yard” but I wonder if it would have benefited from a slightly smaller aperture.
This is a purely subjective suggestion, but I’m guessing it was shot full open (f 1.8), because the dof is very shallow. I would have liked to see it shot at f 2, so that the foreground wouldn’t be blurred as much, while keeping the background unchanged.
None the less, I really like the picture.
Hi Jelle. Thanks for the comment. Yes, it was shot at f/1.8. I think what I did is a common mistake of a lot of beginners. We get a f/1.8 lens and love the subject isolation so much that we sometimes forget that more depth of field is actually preferred in some instances. Thanks for the suggestion. I do agree with you.
