While visiting Ancient Bristlecone Pine Forest to enjoy the Perseid Meteor Shower, we made a day trip to the ghost town of Bodie. This was one of the examples of how picking up photography has made me appreciate and see things with different eyes. Two years ago I don’t know if I would have appreciated the place as much as I did during this visit.
Although you can’t really get into any of the abandoned buildings, just taking pictures through the windows (most of the ones below were taken that way) was a very satisfying experience. I ended converting all of them into black & white to better reflect the mood of the place.

Nice pictures.
I visited Bodie one year ago. I think Bodie is the best ghost town in California!
The fourth pic’ is wonderful!
Thanks for the comment! Yes, I agree it is a great ghost town, especially how well preserved the interior of the houses are, although I do think that many of the items inside were added later on. It’d be hard to imagine the people leaving town back then leaving so much stuff behind.
